Boko Haram Attacks UN convoy on Aid Mission In Nigeria, Injure 5

Boko Haram has hit a UN convoy carrying staff from UNICEF, UNFPA, and IOM who had just delivered food to an IDP camp.

A UNICEF employee and an IOM contractor were injured in the attack and are being treated at a local hospital. All other UNICEF, IOM and UNFPA staff are safe.

The incident led to the UN suspending aid deliveries to Borno and other places that are believed to be Boko Haram strongholds. Their statement said, “The United Nations has temporarily suspended humanitarian assistance missions pending review of the security situation,”

Four soldiers also got hit by bullets and but no casualties have been reported as of yet.
