Boko Haram Storm Maiduguri, Attack Military Barracks

Boko Haram terrorists invaded parts of Maiduguri on Monday night including the 333 artillery barracks.

According to a report by theCable, residents in the area reported that Boko Haram stormed the town around 11:20pm Monday night.

They attacked other parts of town before going to the barracks which they surrounded.

Several residents also reported the abduction of travellers along Maiduguri- Damaturu road before the attack commenced.

According to a resident of the city, identifed as Tajudeen Umar;

“We are under serious attack in this city. Sounds of gunshot and bombs from different direction. I can’t tell precisely where this is from but the sounds are clear.”

The outcome of the battle remains unknown at the time this report was filed. The attacks have come a day after the service chiefs marked their fifth year in office.

They have been unable to curtail the menace of Boko Haram and other armed groups in Northern Nigeria who continue to attack civilians and kill Nigerian security personnel at will.
