The abduction of over 200 Secondary School Girls from Chibok is no longer news as it has captivated the attention of the whole world and even aliens in space. The whole world now knows how satanic Boko Haram is. Congrats to the sponsors of Boko Haram & it’s field officers. My special congratulations to the baboon called Shekau. You finally got the global attention you have long been looking for.
The activities of Boko Haram has become worrisome in recent times but more worrisome is this Chibok kidnap of school girls. This operation looks like a Joint Effort of the Political Boko Haramist and it’s other arm -The Shekau Boko Haram. This stage-managed kidnap was well orchestrated to get maximum international attention by it’s organizers. It is also no longer news that Boko Haram was created by the Political Elites of Northern Nigeria to prove a point to their Niger Delta counterpart who terrorized the country at will during the Niger Delta militancy era that no one has a monopoly of violence. From trying to make a point, the Monster our dear Northern Elites created has fast gone out of their grip and control. I believe the major apparatus of this monster called Boko Haram is no longer controlled by the Northern Elites who created it but now majorly in the hand of this junkie & blood-thirsty baboon called Shekau. But before it’s too late I believe the Political Elite “Political Boko Haramist” who created this frankistein monster should as a matter of urgency reach-out to their former employee who has now gone AWOL to come back to his senses and give peace a chance.
From the hand writing on the wall about this Chibok kidnap of the Missing School Girls, it is evident that the Political Boko Haramist and Shekau’s faction can still have common grounds to work together. I believe that this kidnap was staged by both the Political & Shekau Boko Haramist for a specific reason. It’s inline with this working agreement as displayed by the swift kidnap of over 200 School Girls that I urge the Political Elite of Northern Nigeria especially those in the North-East to reach out to their comrades in arms “the Shekau Faction” to put an end to this dance of shame that’s plaguing their land and by extension our beloved country.
I, therefore, recommend these advice to Northern Elites to solve the Boko Haram menace as a matter of urgency:
1. The announcement of an independent Negotiating Team with the Political and Shekau Boko Haram Factions. This team should be an independent team that has no relationship with government so that the agitators of the Boko Haram ideology can trust it and see it as a team that has the interest of Northern Nigeria at heart. I suggest this team be chaired by either Mohammed Buhari, IBB, Adamu Chiroma or Atiku. Northerns like Ahmed Sani Yerima, Ali Modu Sheriff, Shehu Sani and major political elites in the North who are believed to be agitators of the Sharia legal system should also be drafted to this Team. Anyone who seems to be sympathetic towards to course of the sect should also be drafted into this Team.
2. The Independent Negotiation Team should make a public inauguration and have as it’s sole Mandate resolving the Boko Haram crisis either through Dialogue “Amnesty” or Communal Effort “by fighting and exposing the insurgent”. It is common knowledge that no insurgency anywhere can thrive if the immediate environment do not support it.
3. Remember that when the Niger Delta got to the breaking points, it was the Political Elite who rose up to the occasion and did not wait for America to be brought in to solve the problem. They all went into the Creeks to find a solution. You must all find a solution to this monster you created if not it might first consume and destroy you before it destroys Nigeria. I have discovered many of the Northern Elites including Vice President Namadi Sambo are shying away from this their in-house Monster created by them to further their political interest. Well, all I can say is that self denial will not solve the problem. These jihadist you created are your children, your brothers and siblings and they dwell among you.
4. You will all recall that Boko Haram had always been there even before your brother Yaradua became President but it was never this violent. All the violence started when this issue of PDP zoning came up. When the issue of PDP zoning came up, a cabal of Special Interest Group called Northern Elders Forum surfaced claiming that it will ensure the Presidency remained in the North by bringing together all Northern aspirants in the PDP. It eventually did, having a Northern Consensus candidate in the person of Atiku Abubakar but since he contested and lost the election with GEJ, the Northern Elites felt insulted and cowed. Slogans like “we will make the country ungovernable” were used may be as a result of political frustration or intentional threats. Therefore, what better way to respond by telling the so-called Jihadist to begin a massive onslaught on the nation. The nation, therefore saw increased activities of this sect after it was clear that the North had lost out in the Political Equation. How else can you explain the continuous funding of Boko Haram if not that the Northern Elites were interested in their activities. Bombs and ammunition cost money and Boko Haram seems not to be running out of them. Learn from the Niger Delta Elites and reach-out to your accomplices in the forest and tell them to stop this madness as it will not get either the Northern Region or Nigeria anywhere.
5. The Americans are here anyway, so the earlier you reach-out to your boys to stop their activities the better for us all. One thing am sure of is that the Americans will not leave until they help you desecrate your land since that seems to be what you guys planned on doing. I do hope you do not want your land to be turned into Bagdad or Afghanistan. I cannot tell you how costly it will be for the American’s involvement in this war but you guys went too far this time with the kidnap of the school girls. It is therefore my candid advice to you guys to stop these power games before it’s too late.
6. I also advice you Northern Elites to read the book: “WHY NATIONS FAIL by Daron Acemoglu and James A. Robinson” that’s if you all have not read it before the whole nation gets tired of you guys. I can tell you that other sections of the country are getting tired of your antics and with the interest of world powers like America now on our soil, it will be very easy for a secession to happen now. Tackle this monster you all created now is my advice to you guys before it’s too late. If patriotic individuals like me who believe so much in the indivisibility of Nigeria are having second thoughts because of the barbaric acts of your baboons like Shekau I wonder what tribalistic bigots like Asari Dokubu and Co-travelers are thinking now.
7. The nonchalant attitude being demonstrated by some Northern Political Elite including Vice President Namadi Sambo to this Boko Haram menace is not only destructive to your political interest but also your social and economic interest. The salvation of the North is and must be in the hand of Northerns especially the Northern Political Elites. All the solutions are in your hands. You created this problem. You must solve it. The Failure to solve this problem might resolve in consequences too grave to bear. If you expect either the Federal Government or the Americans to help you solve this problem then your ignorance is legendary.
8. The hypocrisy of your Political Elites, religious and traditional rulers are also not helping matters. Most of your leaders are reluctant to condemn the activities of the insurgents like the recent kidnap of Chibok School Girls. Even when they condemn these attacks it’s done reluctantly. Is it because they are afraid if they openly do they might be attacked as was the case when The Emir of Kano was attacked or is it because of the Islamic connotations the so-called jihadist have attached to their struggle. We had expected that the #BringBackOurGirls campaign would have been championed by the Religious Leaders of Northern Nigeria or the Northern Political Elites to condemn the abduction of this girls but all we got was a deafening silence instead it was Southerners like Oby Ezekwesili and others who started it and have thus far sustained the tempo.
9. The script been acted by your boys “Shekau and Co” in the field may be the reason why this Nation may actually fail if urgent steps are not taken now to nip this in the bud. Your quest for POWER may be justified considering the Gentlemans’ agreement stated in the PDP constitution which is why I agree with Late General Azazi who opined Boko Haram was a creation of the inner workings of the PDP mechanism. Yes the zoning arrangement might have been breached and you all feel greatly betrayed and slighted but I think it’s time to stop this onslaught now. It also appears you guys may not have total control of the Shekau faction any longer but you must do all within your power to reach-out to him and get him to reason.
10. Finally, the coming of World Powers like America into this equation has suddenly changed the Game Plan you must admit. Therefore, I urge you all to cease fire and seek a political solution of negotiation instead of an all out war that was the strategy before. If you do not take this advice seriously, I am sure you guys will soon start singing new songs like “genocide”, “crime against humanity”, etc.
Conclusion
My advice to you is to approach your Niger Delta friends and ask them for help on strategies they used to end Militancy in their region. Get all your political elites, religious and even traditional leaders involved in this process of finding a lasting solution. Stop the Almajiri syndrome which you have enthroned as prestigious culture and place more emphasis on qualitative service delivery to you people. Stop looting you people blind and turning the majority of children in Northern Nigeria to Almajiri. Rise up to the Boko Haram challenge and solve it. If you do not rise up, investors will desert your land. Even teachers, professional like doctors and surgeons; and even experts will also desert your land. If the Nigerian State is stretched to it’s limit, secession is inevitable and it will be easily aided by foreign powers. This will not be a good political calculation for the North especially for your children and generations yet unborn because as Political Elites, you are already used to the “Easy Oil Money” and may not have patience for the “Agriculture Money” which takes longer time to materialize and is not as satisfying. My people will always say, a word is enough for the wise.
