Rising star in the music industry, Boy Spyce, recently shared a candid and relatable story about a time he went to great lengths to impress his girlfriend. In an engaging conversation on Cool FM’s “The Big Friday Show,” hosted by media personality Tacha, the singer shed light on the “weirdest” thing he had ever done for love.
During the interview, Boy Spyce recounted an incident from his past where he took out a loan in pursuit of keeping his girlfriend’s attention. The “Carry Me Go” crooner admitted that his actions might seem straightforward but emphasized that he would never resort to such measures again. He expressed a newfound understanding that impressing someone should not come at the cost of his financial well-being or self-esteem.
In the story he shared, Boy Spyce revealed that he borrowed a substantial sum of N50,000, a significant amount for him at the time, to prevent his girlfriend from going on a date with another man to a location she had been longing to visit. His motivation stemmed from a desire to show his commitment and to keep her from spending time with someone else. His then-girlfriend expressed interest in visiting a particular place, and when she mentioned that another man wanted to take her there, Boy Spyce felt compelled to act.
The Mavin signee acknowledged that this incident took place years ago and reflected on how he has evolved since then. He emphasized the importance of maintaining his financial stability and self-respect, even in the pursuit of love.
Boy Spyce humorously recounted the situation, saying, “The farthest I have ever gone for love is borrowing money. It sounds very basic but it’s actually something I would never do anymore. If I no get, I no get. I no go kill myself to impress anybody.“
