The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has on Tuesday promised to bring down the full wrath of the Justice system on any persons found culpable in the ongoing anti-corruption war.

Adding that his administration is set on bringing corrupt Nigerians to their knees, he further stated that the anti-graft war would be fought relentlessly until the nation sees the true plan of the corrupt elite to run the country down.

In a statement released by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, the President during an interactive session in Malabo with Nigerian residents in the Equatorial Guinea said: “We will be merciless and relentless in pursuing all those who abused public trust. Nigerians will see how some of the elite conspired to run the nation down”.

Buhari also speaking on the ongoing political violence in Rivers State considered the uprising and killing barbaric, primitive and unacceptable, he added that: “We will deal decisively with all sponsors of violence. I have given the security services clear directives in this regard.

“We will show that violence in any form will no longer be tolerated before, during or after elections,”

Further addressing issues, the President said; “I want all Nigerians to know that I respect them and their right to choose their leaders,” and therefore promised that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, will be encouraged to find a means to include Nigerians in diaspora in the 2019 electioneering process so that their votes and opinions can count too.
