The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council has reacted to the call for Igbo to vacate the North in three months.

Reacting to the threat made by a coalition of Northern groups, including the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum, the youth wing of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, on Wednesday said the Igbo will not leave the North because they already have so much invested in the region.

The Ohanaeze youth revealed that the Igbo have invested over N44 trillion in the region and has therefore instructed the Igbo living in the North to prepare to defend themselves against possible attack by Northerners.

Coming after the three months ultimatum, the Ohanaeze Youth Council stated that “Igbo cannot leave the North after spending over N44trn to develop the region.”

The youth wing of the group while addressing journalists after a meeting in Enugu through its National President, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, said the Igbo in the Northern region should stay put adding that the 3-months ultimatum by the Northern groups was a call to arms, and should be treated as such by security agencies.
