Thirty-two elite teams are set to challenge for the biggest prize in club football, as the 2023/24 UEFA Champions League group stage begins, The Herald reports.

Newcastle will play their first Champions League match in 20 years when they travel to the iconic San Siro Stadium to lock horns with seven-time winners, AC Milan on Tuesday.

Nigerian forward Samuel Chukwueze could make his European debut for the Rossoneri. The match will be broadcast live on SuperSport Football Plus (DStv ch 202) and SuperSport Premier League (GOtv 66) at 5:45 pm.

Reigning champions, Manchester City will begin their title defence against Red Star Belgrade as they seek to become the second team to successfully defend the title. Tune in to SuperSport Premier League (DStv ch 203 and GOtv 66) at 8pm to enjoy.

At the same time, Spanish champions Barcelona will kick-off their campaign at Estadio Olimpico Montjuic against Antwerp on SuperSport La Liga (DStv ch 204 and GOtv ch 62).

On Wednesday, record winners Real Madrid will face off with debutant Union Berlin at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. The match kicks off at 5:45 pm on SuperSport Football Plus (DStv ch 202), while record Europa league champions, Sevilla will host RC Lens at Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán at 8 pm on SuperSport Football (DStv ch 205 and GOtv ch 61)
