Chief of Defense, Badeh forfeits $1m cash and N1bn Mansion to FG

Former Chief of Army Defence staff, Air Chief Marshal, Alex Badeh (rtd), who is facing trail for the misappropriation of N1.1billion meant for the Nigerian Airforce and also for his involvement in the $2.1billion arms deal scandal, has forfeited his $1m cash to the EFCC.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, during investigations, searched Badeh’s mansion situated at 6 Ogun River Crescent, Maitama, on March 6th, 2016 and found $1m cash.

He was granted bail by Justice Okon Abang on March, 10th 2016 to the tune of N2billion with two sureties in the sun of N1b each, but he remained in custody until when he was able to meet his bail conditions on March 24th, 2016.

The house, which is estimated to be worth N1.1billion, was subsequently seized by the EFCC while the cash was also confisticated as evidence against the retired Defence Chief.
