Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart has tipped the club to leapfrog table leaders Chelsea and come first due to their easier Christmas and New Year fixtures.
City’s Saturday victory over Crystal Palace leveled them with Chelsea, but they went back to being second after the Blues defeated Stoke City 2 – 0.
The upcoming matches for Chelsea are quite challenging while Man City contrastingly have easier fixtures.
Hart is wary of the struggle ahead and believes City will clinch to the title again.
“I hope so. That will mean we’ll have had a
good season,” he said.
” if we’re toe to toe with them because they have started fantastically and for us to be in the position we are is down to winning eight on the spin.
“Chelsea are a strong team, they’ve got a strong manager and will do what they need to do. But I think they appreciate and totally expect us to push them. I don’t think it’s any surprise we’re on their tails and we’re not surprised that they’re doing so well.”
