Cloudy, Hazy Weather Expected From Wednesday To Friday- NiMet

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted hazy and cloudy weather conditions from Wednesday to Friday.

NiMet’s weather outlook released on Tuesday in Abuja predicted dust haze condition over the northern region on Wednesday.

The agency further predicted a horizontal visibility range of 2KM to 5KM and localised visibility of 1000M over places like Kano, Katsina, Sokoto, Kebbi, Kaduna and parts of Zamfara throughout the forecast period.

It said, however, that southern Taraba would witness haziness with patches of clouds during the afternoon and evening hours.

“North central region is expected to be in sunny and hazy condition throughout forecast period, with exception of southern central places like Kwara, Kogi and Benue where patches of clouds are expected in afternoon and evening hours.

“However, residents of Niger state are expected to experience dust haze condition,” it said.

NiMet envisaged the inland and coastal cities of the South to be in partly cloudy condition with possibilities of thunderstorms over Cross River and Akwa-Ibom in the morning hours.

According to it, there are prospects of few thunderstorms over parts of Delta, Edo, Cross River, Akwa-Ibom, Rivers and Lagos states during the afternoon and evening hours.

The agency forecast dust haze condition over the northern region throughout the forecast period on Thursday.

It anticipated North central region to be hazy with sunshine intervals throughout forecast period except Kwara, Kogi, Nassarawa and Benue states where sunny skies with patches of cloud was expected in afternoon and evening hours.

“ Thunderstorms are expected over the southwest inland and coastal cities places like Ondo, Ogun, Oyo, Lagos, Cross-River and Rivers states while the southeast inland is expected to be in partly cloudy condition in the morning hours.

“ A few thunderstorm activities are expected over southeast inland and coastal cities places like Akwa-Ibom, Cross-River and Rivers states while southwest inland is expected to be in partly cloudy condition in the afternoon and evening hours,” it said.

The agency predicted dust haze condition over the northern region throughout the forecast period on Friday.

According to it, the North central region is expected to be in sunny and hazy condition throughout the forecast period.

“ The inland areas of the South and coastal cities are expected to have patches of clouds throughout the forecast period.

“However, later in the day, a few thunderstorms are expected over parts of Akwa-Ibom, Cross-River and Bayelsa states,” it said.
