Nigerian socialite Cubana Chief Priest, whose real name is Okechukwu Pascal, has been charged by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for allegedly violating the Central Bank Act.

The charges, filed on April 4th, center around three separate incidents in 2020, January 2024, and February 2024, where Cubana Chief Priest is accused of “tampering with funds” by spraying N500 notes during social events.

According to the EFCC, spraying money in such a manner contravenes Section 21(1) of the Central Bank Act of 2007. This news comes shortly after another well-known figure, Bobrisky, was sentenced to six months in prison by the EFCC for similar offenses.

Cubana Chief Priest is yet to respond publicly to the charges.
