A Delta State monarch, HRM Erhiekevwe I, the Ovie of Idjere, Ethiope West Local Government Area in Delta State, has issued a 9 days ultimatum to resident Fulani herdsmen operating in his domain to vacate the area or face the wrath that comes after.

The directive came as a result of the Nigerian Army, 3 Battalion in Effurun’s order that it would no longer tolerate violence across the state adding that “All culprits will henceforth be severely dealt with.”

The warning by the Nigerian Army was handed down by the Commanding Officer of the 3 Battalion, Efunrun, Lt. Col. Igwe Partrick while paying a courtesy visit to the Ovie of Uvwie, HRM, Emmanuel Sideso..

The Idjere monarch issuing the order said: “Farming is my people’s mainstay. The Hausas/Fulani people rearing cattle here have created too many problems, including killing of innocent people. They also defile our women and destroy their crops while grazing. They must leave in nine days or face the wrath of my people who I will unleash on them.”
