‘Lion King’, a Tony-winning Broadway musical continues to pull in crowd every time it shows. The story centers on a young lion whose father and the king of his pride is killed by his uncle who then takes over his throne.

Disney will presumably keep the catchy music from the original film which include ‘Hakuna Matata’ and ‘Can you feel the love tonight’.

Favreau and Disney are also working on developing a sequel to ‘The Jungle Book’. No release date has been set for both movies.

This new development comes on the heel of Disney’s new movie ‘Queen of Katwe’ featuring Lupita Nyong’o.
