A few Nigerians, who called at the Corinthian Arena Stadium to watch the Dream Team VI, went home slightly disappointed when the team fell to defeat in the 2-0 loss.

“Our quality of play went down. Some of the changes effected by the coach did not help matters,’’ Mike Adjuya, a Sao Paulo-based soccer agent told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN)

He said the team might have done that to avoid Brazil, particularly at the quarterfinal stages of the competition, but was was not good enough.

Another Nigerian, Jonathan Chiekwe said: “I spent equivalent of N11,000 to purchase the ticket for the match only for the team not to impress.

“The goals were avoidable and the goalkeeper was not at his best and even conceded a careless penalty.’’

Chika Emmanuel, Secretary-General of Nigerians in the Diaspora (NIDO), said he was not happy that the team did not sparkle.

“Something urgent must be done by the coach to put smiles on faces of Nigerians in the quarters.’’

Umunna Nnakwe said the team ought to have played well to raise our confidence to continue to support them although this is made harder with the injury sustained by forward Oghenekaro Etebo who has been in sparkling form so far.
