Three top producers of the Ellen Degeneres show have been sacked following allegations of sexual misconduct and toxic work environment.

Ellen Degeneres announced the news to staffers during a staff meeting video conference call.

According to reports, she was emotional to the point of tears, and apologetic as she addressed more than 200 staffers.

The three producers, which include Ed Glavin, Kevin Leman and co-executive producer Jonathan Norman were sacked following damning allegations raised in recent reports by Buzzfeed and Variety.

Glavin, specifically, was mentioned in multiple complaints contained in the BuzzFeed story

Mary Connelly, Andy Lassner and Derek Westervelt will remain at the show as executive producers alongside host Degeneres.

Back in July, Warner Bros production company Telepictures informed staff members on the show that it was enlisting Warner Media’s employee relations team and a third-party consultant to interview current and former employees about their experiences.

Following their investigation, the company conducted 100 interviews and found no culture of racism on the show. However, they heard that some staff members had been offended by attempts at jokes, Lassner told staffers during the call. He said the company would hold education and training sessions at all levels to avoid any repetition of that behavior.
