Enugu State Council of NUJ plans to establish library to boost research

The Enugu State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), has appealed to philanthropists to help the union to establish library in the state to facilitate research among journalists.

The Council Chairman, Mr Rex Arum, made the appeal while speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Enugu on Thursday.

Arum noted that there was a need to add an ICT centre to facilitate the e-research section of the proposed library.

He noted that the library had become necessary in order to re-engineer minds of journalists to socio-cultural and humanitarian developments within the state and the country.

“A centre like the NUJ secretariat should have an ICT centre to enable journalists effectively discharge their duties. “As well, the centre should have a library to help in research and further learning, but unfortunately, these things are lacking, to say the least. “

“So, we are appealing to philanthropists, our grand patron and supporters to help us generously towards renovating our secretariat infrastructure and adding these needed components for the betterment of the union and the society in general,’’ he said. (NAN)
