Evicted Tenant meets with death after second attempt at suicide

A young man has been found dead in an uncompleted building following his eviction from his apartment by his landlord.

The young man identified as Femi was reported to have committed suicide at Alhaji Aboki street in Abaranje by K/S bus stop in Ikotun where he lived before his eviction.

According to eye witnesses, Femi who was popularly known as Fela until his death was suspected to have committed suicide after he was discovered foaming and discharging substances from his mouth.

The 27-year-old who claimed to be a relative of the legendary Fela was according to residents suspected to have committed suicide after the landlord got the Police to evict him from his one-room apartment.

It was gathered that the suicide attempt was not his first as the previous failed attempt in which he jumped into a water well was the reason behind his eviction. Residents added that he failed to provide contacts of his relatives after he survived the first attempt at suicide.

The deceased’s body has been collected by the Police and deposited at the mortuary after the Landlord Association of the area reported the case.
