Islamic cleric, Sheikh Taofeeq Akeugbagold who became a father after 12 years of childlessness, is pleading for mercy with the Kidnappers of his twin children.
According to Sheikh Taofeeq, he had just finished recording a lecture at the studio to be later aired on radio and Television when he got a call from his wife around 7:30pm, informing him that Armed Robbers were in his home. He immediately rushed to his home in Abatakan area in Ojoo, Ibadan.
Unfortunately, by the time he got home, the armed robbers had abducted his twins (boy and girl) who he bore through In Vitro Fertilization after 12 years of childlessness
Speaking to The Tribune;
Akeugbagold said, “Some kidnappers came to my house with guns yesterday. We had a recording yesterday and whenever we have recorded, alfas do break their fast in my house.
“If we have a lecture, we sometimes go to Fresh FM to do it there live. Whenever we are returning, most of the security agents know that its either we are coming from a radio or television station where we went to deliver a lecture.
“Immediately, I left home, my wife just called me, saying that she was calling from a corner and that armed robbers were already in the house.
“Immediately I got the call, I turned back but before I got home, they were gone. All I heard was that they overpowered the gateman, pointed a gun at him and he surrendered. Even they pointed the gun at children of two years (sobs).
“This happened at around 7.30 pm. The Commissioner of Police came to my house this morning. I am appealing to the abductors to please pity my condition.
“I have not slept since yesterday expecting that the abductors will call. My wife was barren for 12 years; that is the only children she had through IVF. They should please call me. All I need is the safety of my children.”
The father also took to social media to make a heart-wrenching post on the abduction of his twins, he wrote:
”WHAT A COUNTRY ! MY TWINS children were kidnapped at gun point at my Ojoo residence Ibadan, around 8pm SATURDAY 10 minutes after I left my home recording lecture in a studio.
“Everybody should pls for Allah’s sake assist me in prayer and begging the abductor to pls be mercy with me expecially their mother who was barren for 12 years b4. Am begging not flexing anything.This is their pictures,help share wide.
“Oh my God! My number 08035066122 only for those who have any assistance to see them not for greeting or flashing. Thanks”
Meanwhile, Oyo state, Police Public Relations Officer, Gbenga Fadeyi who confirmed the incident disclosed four persons have been arrested in connection to the abduction.
Tribune quoted Fadeyi saying “Efforts are being intensified. Four arrests have been made and they are currently assisting the police in investigation”
