Father to pay N10m ransom to Son who kidnapped his sister

Abdulbasit Umar, a 22 year old man has been arrested by Taraba State police for kidnapping his 10 year old sister, Amina Umar, all in a bid to scam his father of N10m.

Umar was not alone in executing this treacherous act, he was aided by two other people, Sadiq Sani and Abdullahi Habib. The trio were said to have demanded the sum of N10 million as ransom to free the young girl.

DSP David Misal, who is the spokesman of the state police paraded the suspects around, along with 12 others for kidnapping and armed robbery, explained that officers of the State Investigative Bureau arrested the trio enroute to collect a ransom of N4 million which they later settled for.

Umar, who is the victims brother, said he had not done such act before, but was in desperate need of the money to enable him travel abroad for his education.

He said:”my aim was that after collecting the money, I will proceed with my education abroad.”

One of his accomplice, Sadiq Sani who claimed to be a childhood friend of the major suspect, said he connived with his friend to help him get money from the father.
