Five Women Caught Attempting To Buy 2-Weeks-Old Baby In Port Harcourt (Video)

5 women have been arrested while attempting to buy a 2 week old baby for N1.1m at Rumuokuta junction in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The buyer identified as Roseline Nwokocha said she came to examine and buy the child for a client of hers who wanted a baby.

Roseline, who was accompanied by her sister, Chioma said this wasn’t her first time buying a baby for a family. She said the last time she came to Port Harcourt to buy a baby, her sister Chioma accompanied her because she was sick.

She was nabbed with the N1.1 million Naira in cash, and stated that it was the buyers who gave her the money as she left Umuahia for Port Harcourt.

When asked who she planned to pay the money to, she pointed at another woman in the group named Chi Chi. Chi Chi was asked who she planned to get the baby from and she pointed to another woman named Aunty Ify.

According to Chi Chi, Aunty Ify approaches her with a baby she was willing to sell for N950,000. Chi chi revealed that she added N50,000 to the money as her own gain, summing up to N1m, then she approached Roseline Nwokocha who had people ready to buy the baby. Roseline Nwokocha added N100k  to the money as her own profit bringing the total to N1.1m.

A 5th woman in the group was identified as the mother of the previous baby Mrs Nwokocha bought.
