Baba Othman Ngelzarma the National Secretary of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association has in an interview with Channels TV show, Sunrise, criticized the media as profiling the Fulani Herdsmen as terrorists.
Othman said that the Fulani Herdsmen were actually victims and that the people responsible for the attacks were not really Fulani Herdsmen, but criminals disguising as Herdsmen.
He stated strongly that the perpetrators should not go unpunished.
He was also quite critical of the media stating that every day as many as 10 real Fulani are kidnapped but nothing is reported in the media about it. He believes that there is a concerted effort to profile the Fulani Herdsmen as terrorists.
He explained that the Herdsmen also put themselves and their families in danger as they journey from the North to other parts of the country for food and water for their cattle.
Othman believes that if the grazing bill is passed, everything will settle and the violence will end.
