Godswill Akpabio in Charge of Grand Looting of NDDC – Former Acting MD says on live TV (Video)

Former acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Joy Nunieh has accused the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio of looting the commission massively.

The former MD also alleged that former Minister of state for Niger Delta affairs, Festus Keyamo (SAN) was also complicit in several corrupt dealings that have happened under the watch of Akpabio as Federal Minister.

Recall that the NDDC has been under fire lately following allegations of mismanagement, waste and outright theft of funds through bogus contracts.

Accusations have also been rife of lawmakers and former Governors fleecing the commission by taking contacts that are never executed.

The speculations of corruption in the NDDC became stronger after Festus Keyamo asked to be relocated from the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs barely five months after being appointed by President Buhari.

Subsequently, the National Assembly had constituted a committee to carry out a probe of the NDDC to ascertain the level of corruption.

Joy Nunieh alleged in the video that the NDDC has overstretched itself by N50 million through the award of dubious contracts for clearance of water Hyacinths before she took office as MD.

She said, during the period, 30 contracts had been awarded to Godswill Akpabio while Festus Keyamo was Minister of State.

She said Akpabio directed her to raise a memo for an emergency contract for flood victims on her office letterhead.

She said while he doesn’t like to sign documents, he wanted her to sign the document and defend it in front of the President, which she refused to do because it did not follow due process.

She also accused him of wanting her to take an oath which she refused to.

At a point during the media briefing, several men attempted to disrupt the former MD as she revealed the corrupt practices of Godswill Akpabio at the Niger Delta Development Commission.
