Many states have benefited from Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) which is one of the social investment programmes of the federal government targeted vulnerable Nigerians during the period of coronavirus outbreak.
The government stated that it has identified people in 35 states across the country as the poorest and most vulnerable Nigerians in the country.
President Buhai’s administration launched the programme by disbursing the N20,000 Condition Cash Transfer to poor households.
The minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadia Umar-Farouk, explained that the government set up the programme as a way of cushioning the effect of the coronavirus pandemic.
Meanwhile, many Nigerians have expressed displeasure over the approach the government is using to cushion the effect of the coronavirus.
Majority of them stated that Bank Verification Number (BVN) would have been the best means through which the government should have reached out to them.
The Nigeria Cash Transfer Office has disclosed the number of the states that have benefited from cash national transfer.
