Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa says there is no truth behind reports that she hoarded COVID-19 palliative.

She made the clarification on Saturday after a social media report that she colluded with a former Commissioner for Agriculture in Lagos to hide the palliatives in her GRA Ikorodu home and a school belonging to be ex-commissioner.

The social media report further claimed that the COVID-19 palliatives were hoarded by the duo to be repackaged and distributed to voters to induce them to vote for APC’s candidate in the Lagos East senatorial bye-election, Tokunbo Abiru.

“There are palliatives inside Abike Dabiri’s house, in G.R.A, Ikorodu. They are branding it with Abiru sticker and also inside Kith and Kit School, along Ibeshe Road, that belongs to former Commissioner for Agric, under Tinubu,” the social media post, whose author is unknown, read.

Reacting to the claim in Ikorodu, Dabiri-Erewa said it took her by surprise.

She said there was no iota of truth in it and urged the public to dismiss the report in its entirety.

According to her, the misinformation was deliberate mischief to score cheap political points.

“I was surprised when I read it in the social media that there were palliatives in my house. It doesn’t anger me because I don’t think we should stoop so low because of political ambition,” Dabiri-Erewa told Vanguard.
