“I wasn’t saying hip-hop is over” — Lil Duval

Comedian, Lil Duval has explained his controversial remark about Afrobeats and hip-hop.

Duval tweeted that “afrobeats might be the death of hip-hop as we know it”.

The comedian’s remark generated a lot of interest and provoked a discourse on the subject, which led him to make yet another tweet, clarifying his earlier tweet.

He said, “I wasn’t saying hip hop is over. I said “hip hop as we know it” meaning like evolved into something bigger. Meaning giving afrobeats props. I don’t how some took offense”.

The latest tweet clarified that Duval’s earlier remark wasn’t from a place of hate.
