The accomplices, who are brothers, Shola and Kayode Oni, were linked to the murder of the victim after reports emerged that the trio matcheted the victim to death.

The sad incident, which took place at Eyin Ogun street, Mafoluku in Oshodi, was brought before the Lagos High Court by the prosecution team, Mr Babatunde Oguntemowo and Mr. Olarewaju Ajanaku.

Justice Kudirat, who pronounced the sentence upon the suspects said,

“I pronounce the defendants guilty as charged and are hereby sentenced to death by hanging by the neck until death.”

The convicts, who claimed they had an argument with the deceased after a birthday celebration hosted on Christmas day by a friend of theirs, said the deceased brother had threatened to deal with them to which they went to inquire the reason for dishing out such a statement.

In the course of the argument, a fight ensued between them which led to the killing of the deceased.
