With speculation shadowing Mourinho’s future at Manchester United, one of the candidates who has been tipped to replace him is Zinedine Zidane.
The former Real Madrid coach has been touted as a potential replacement to the fiery Portuguese, however, former France player Dugarry is pretty sure this won’t happen.
“Zizou won’t go to Manchester. I’m telling you, he won’t go to Manchester.” said Dugarry to RMC sports.
“If he called Mourinho, I won’t eat one rat, I’ll eat two.
“I don’t believe it for one second, because the relationship between Zidane and Mourinho has never been good. Never.
“So I don’t see why Zizou would call Mourinho to tell him he won’t take his job.
“Zizou is on holiday, Mourinho is sorting his situation out by himself.”
While Dugarry is adamant that Zidane will not be in the United dugout, the club itself has dismissed reports that Mourinho could be sacked, calling the reports ‘nonsense’
Mourinho’s time at the club has yielded a Europa League trophy and a community shield. They also came in second behind a record-breaking Manchester City last season which included a stunning comeback against the champions in a game they won 3-2.
The game against Newcastle will go a long way in determining Mourinho’s future with a defeat possibly leading to an inevitable sack.
