IGP Sacks Plateau Commissioner of Police After Killings

The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris has taken swift action following the murder of over a 100 people in Barkin Ladi, Riyom and Jos South Local Government Areas

Idris in short order sacked the Commissioner of Police for Plateau State, Undie Adie

His replacement, Bala Ciroma, was formerly the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department and now has the unenviable task of keeping the peace and finding those responsible for the dastardly massacre and bring them to justice.

In a short statement by the Spokesperson of Plateau State Police Command, Matthias Tyopev, announced the departure of Undie Adie and announced his replacement, but he did not give any reasons for Adie’s sacking.

According to the statement, the new Commissioner, graduated from University of Maiduguri in 1988 and joined the Nigerian Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police on March 3, 1990, and has served in various capacities.

The statement added that Ciroma “has also served in virtually all the six geo-political zones of Nigeria and in all the departments of the NPF.”
