A female lawyer, E.P Amara Esq, has promised N2 million cash gift to the father of Chibuike Ikeagwuchi, a 20-year-old man killed extrajudicially by police in Rivers State in September.

Amara, who tweets from @ergoministries, stated this while reacting to the video that trended last month.

In the video that circulated on social media, the distraught father could be seen shedding tears over his son’s killing and failure of police authorities to bring the killers to justice.

In the September 19 incident, Chibuike Ikeagwuchi was said to be strolling around Elelenwo neighbourhood of Port Harcourt with his friend when a police team accosted and labelled them thieves.

To prove he was not, Ikeagwuchi reportedly emptied the content of a bag he was carrying for the policemen to take a look.

His sister, Maureen said that a trigger-happy policeman in the team shot her brother from the back and the team failed to take him to the hospital despite seeing him writhing in pains in a pool of blood.

In the video, the distraught father said, “I lived in the north up to 12 years (and) I never lost a finger.

“I came back here only for somebody to waste my son. There was no war. There was no fight. There was no riot. Not that the boy was involved in any fracas. Not that he was stealing. Not that he was robbing. Just coldbloodedly, they wasted this boy for me. Oh God, avenge his blood for me.”

Reacting to the video on Twitter, Amara said, “I asked on the TL if anybody can help me locate this man.

“I need to do my own part at least what they didn’t allow his son do for him.

“Help me contact him if you can. I know money cannot bring back the dead son but I have two million naira for him. Thanks.”
