Immigration to start deporting illegal immigrants from Nigeria

The Nigeria Immigration Service has announced its plans to start deporting any foreigner living in the country without proper documentation.

This, according to the body, would become necessary as soon as one of its new policies is effected.

The policy would mandate individuals in the category to get residence permits.

Announcing the development, the Comptroller General of NIS, Muhammad Babban Dede, stated that the clampdown would begin in three months.

He further warned that NIS would not hesitate to deport those who have not secured the necessary documents after that period.
