The National Youth Council of Nigeria has appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari and all state governors to dedicate 30 per cent of the annual budget to youth skill development so as to foster economic development and reduce unemployment.

National President of (NYCN) Ikenga Ikeaguonu said this in Abuja during a press briefing organised in commemoration of the 2015 International Youth Day.

Ikeaguonu pledged support to the President’s Anti-corruption drive.

He said “We pledge support of the Nigerian youth to the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, especially hi anti-corruption agenda, which has already started yielding fruits. We encourage Mr. President to carry through the naming and prosecution of all treasury looters and recovery of our national heritage.”

He also commended the treasury single account directive; he said “The directive of the president on the operation of the treasury single account is quite commendable and in-line with sections 80 and 162 of the 1999 constitution (as amended). Also, the surgery in the NNPC should continue until the Augean stable is cleared.”
