Nigerian Corrections Service (NCS) officials have provided an update on the situation of incarcerated crossdresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky.

Bobrisky, sentenced to six months in prison for naira abuse, has been integrated into the general prison population.

A cell has been allocated to Bobrisky, and he shares it with a number of male inmates,” an NCS official stated. “He has been assigned a bed space, and the overall environment is similar to a boarding house setting, where inmates receive their personal belongings from designated authorities.”

The official continued, “Bobrisky adheres to the prison schedule. He attends classes when held, collects his meals at designated times, and participates in evening preparations and lights out just like any other inmate. He has been conducting himself appropriately since his arrival.

Bobrisky’s imprisonment for naira abuse has generated significant public interest in Nigeria.
