The Nollywood community is in mourning following the burial of talented makeup artist Abigail Edith Frederick. Frederick was tragically killed last week in a boat accident alongside popular actor Junior Pope and three others. 24-year-old Frederick, a graduate of the University of Uyo (UNIUYO) Theater Arts program, was laid to rest on Monday in her hometown of Ikot Udoma, Akwa Ibom State.

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom played a key role in ensuring a proper burial for Frederick. Following her initial burial elsewhere, Governor Eno directed that her remains be exhumed and brought back to Ikot Udoma for a more traditional ceremony. The obsequies were conducted by the Church of Christ in Ikot Udoma.

Governor Eno’s support extended beyond the funeral arrangements. During a condolence visit to Frederick’s family on April 13th, he pledged assistance to her two younger sisters who are currently enrolled in undergraduate studies. He also approved the remodeling of the family’s house in Eket.

The Governor’s compassion extended to immediate employment for Frederick’s elder sister within the state civil service. He further ensured that both younger sisters will receive ongoing government support to complete their education.

News reports indicate that the Governor’s entertainment team, led by “Utang Akwa Ibom,” played a vital role in facilitating the exhumation and transportation of Frederick’s remains from Asaba to her hometown for burial.
