The group had agitated an allegedly prolonged irregularity being meted on the on selected key members of the PDP and did not waste time before embarking on the creation of the new faction now being led by Baraje.

It was gathered from a reliable source that “the security agencies have been placed on red alert to clamp down on the new parallel PDP fromMonday”, when the new party intends to open its National Secretariat.

However, reports have it that the Presidency has strategized plans on how the new faction will be a complete check on the personalities involved; hence the sponsors might be in for a tough time with the Presidency.

According to the source, the presidency has commenced move to bring down the full weight of the presidential power on the new PDP and therefore, a close watch has been ordered on the activities of the group with a view to stopping them before they gain any sort of popularity or public sympathy.

Besides, it was also garnered that police have been ordered to invade and seal off any building designated as a corresponding secretariat to Wadata Plaza in Abuja.

The seven PDP governors involved in the temporary disentangle from President Goodluck Jonathan, and his supporters include who have obviously been having issues with the presidency over some time ago.

The are Niger State governor Babangida Aliyu, Sokoto State governor Magatarkada Wamakko, Jigawa  State governor Sule Lamido, Kano State governor Rabiu Kwakwanso, Rivers State governor Rotimi Amaechi, Adamawa State governor Murtala Nyako and the Kwara State governor Abdulfatah Ahmed.

They had laid allegations that the party which is being run by Jonathan and Alhaji Bamanga Tukur as a personal property and this, they said has been run the party aground with political ineptitude on the part of the duo.

A source revealed that the matter was tabled at a hurriedly assembled group of president’s men in the wee hours of Sunday, after the convention.

According to the source: “the decision taken by Baraje group was not shocking to Jonathan’s men as they had envisaged that a time might come when they aggrieved governors would pull out of PDP” but the group’s decision to form a faction caught the president and supporters unaware.
