JUST IN: Gunmen Attack Delta Police Station, Kill 3 Cops, Detainee

Three policemen and a detainee have been reported killed during an attack by unknown gunmen on Nsukwa Divisional Police Station in Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State.

The attack was said to have occurred around 2 a.m. on Sunday.

The attack reportedly lasted for several hours, leaving residents apprehensive throughout the night.

It was learnt that the assailants set the police station and vehicles parked within the premises on fire.

SaharaReporters reported that the gunmen carted away ammunition at the station.

It was further learnt that the gunmen freed some suspects detained at the station before setting it on fire.

The Delta State Police Command has yet to confirm the incident.

The South-South and South-East geopolitical zones have witnessed increased attacks on police formations and correctional centres in recent weeks.
