JUST IN: Sokoto Scammer Posing As US Army General Serving In Syria Bags 10-Year Jail Term

Justice Malami Dogondaji of the Sokoto State High Court on Monday sentenced a scammer, Murtala Abdullateef to 10 years in a correctional centre.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) said in a terse statement that its Sokoto Zonal Office prosecuted the content.

The anti-graft agency said that Abdullateef was prosecuted on a one-count charge.

It said that the convict was sentenced for “attempting to defraud foreigners through Facebook while presenting himself as a United States Army General serving in war-torn Syria”.
