Kano Sharia Court Sentences Kannywood Actress For “Indecent Social Media Postings”

Beautiful Kannywood actress and blogger, Sadiya Haruna has been sentenced to six months in Islamic school for “uploading sexual contents on her social media handles”.

A Sharia court sitting Kano state sentenced the actress on Monday.

Haruna was arrested on Friday and detained by the Islamic police.

On Monday, she was arraigned before  Justice Ali Jibril Danzaki of the Sharia court sitting in Sharada area of the state.

In the First Information Report (FIR) filed against her, the prosecution alleged that Haruna posted indecent videos that showed her dancing seductively on her social media and YouTube channels.

She pleaded guilty to a one-count charge of obscenity and indecent act, which contradicts section 355 of Penal Code Law 2000.

Justice Danzaki convicted the accused person and ordered her to attend a Darul Hadith Islamiyya school in Tudun Yola quarters for six months to learn basic Islamic cultures.

The judge ruled that the convict was to be escorted to the Islamiyya school every day by Hisbah Guards and monitored by the school headteacher.
