After more than a decade, Presidential candidate, Kanye West has finally revealed why he crashed Taylor Swift’s MTV VMAs acceptance speech in 2009.

The infamous incident occurred while the then-20-year-old Swift was receiving an award for best female video for “You Belong With Me.” Out of the blue, West ran up onstage and snatched the mike to shout out Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies” video, which he felt was more deserving of the accolade.

“Yo Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’ma let you finish,” he shouted, “but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time! One of the best videos of all time!”

Kanye West’s VMAs 2009 speech not only shocked Beyonce but numerous celebrities later mentioned that Taylor Swift felt really bad for what he did.

Now, 11 years later, during a 45-minute interview for Nick Cannon’s podcast, Cannon’s Class, Kanye West revealed that God ordered him to interrupt Taylor Swift’s speech.

“Right now, God is giving me the information, If God ain’t want me to run on stage and say Beyoncé had the best video, he wouldn’t have sat me in the front row. I would’ve been sitting in the back.” He said

While reflecting on his action, he said: “It wouldn’t have made it so ridiculous of an idea because I had never heard of this person before and Single Ladies is, like, one of the greatest videos of all time.

“I was only drinking Hennessy because I didn’t want to go to the awards show because it was a set-up.”

That wasn’t the only time West invoked the Lord’s name during the wild interview. The fashion mogul also claimed that God made him realize that abortion was “black genocide” so he could spread the word among his followers.
