Kidnappers Kill Doctor, Two Others After Collecting N7.5m Ransom

The Nigerian Police have arrested a Kidnapping syndicate who killed a Doctor and two other people after collecting a ransom of N7.5 million.

This was disclosed by the force public relations officer, DCP, Frank Mba in Abuja while parading the suspects.

He disclosed that the kidnappers abducted one Doctor Audu Benedict, His Son and a family friend on their way to Abuja.

The kidnappers subsequently forced Dr. Benedict to raise N500,000 which was cashed immediately. They thereafter forced his family to raise and additional N7 million for their release.

Instead of releasing their victims however, the syndicate killed the Doctor, his son and their family friend upon receipt of the ransom money.

“Among the suspects, we have a kidnap syndicate that specialises in terrorising people of the North-Central zone.

“A ransom of N7m was paid by the family of Dr Audu Benedict. While in captivity, the doctor also raised a cheque of N500,000, bringing the total to N7.5m.

“After collecting the ransom, the suspects went ahead to kill the doctor, his son and the family friend, the police said.

The accused persons also abducted another member of the family Veronica Aboyi much later.

Six AK-47 and three pump action rifles were recovered from the gang.
