Tragedy struck after a landlord, Abiodun Bolarinwa, slumped and lost his life soon after an argument with a tenant of his, Shadrach Enim.

The sad incident happened on Chris Matthew Street, in the Okokomaiko area of Lagos State.

According to the PUNCH, the landlord and tenant were both going at each other, shouting hotly and throwing verbal hits. Both men threatened each other during the argument.

Sadly, a few minutes later, the landlord, Bolarinwa slumped and breathed his last, dying right after the argument.

Upon seeing that the Landlord was dead, the tenant with whom he argued with was immediately apprehended and he was taken to the police on suspicion of having something to do with the landlord’s death seeing as they had both just had an argument.

There is at this time no theory as to what caused the fight in the first place or what could have escalated it so much that it turned as ugly as it did.

The incident was confirmed by Public Relations Officer for the Police, CSP Chike Oti, who said that investigation was underway.

According to Oti: “The story is confirmed. The landlord and the tenant had a misunderstanding that degenerated into a verbal abuse on Saturday, around 6.20pm.

“According to the report from the division, there was no physical contact. The landlord, Mr Abiodun Bolarinwa, slumped and died. The corpse has been taken to a mortuary for autopsy. The tenant is in custody pending the conclusion of investigations.”
