LAPD Makes Fresh Arrests in Connection With Pop Smoke Shooting

The Los Angeles Police Department has made fresh arrests in connection with the shooting of Rapper, Pop Smoke, real name Bashar Jackson.

Pop Smoke was robbed and shot to death in his rented apartment at New York on February 19.

The LAPD arrested five people in connection to the death of American rapper, including two teenagers who joined in the suspected robbery attack at his home.

The arrested suspects who are legal adults include Corey Walker, 19 and Keandre Rodgers, 18 both charged for murder while Jaquan Murphy, 21 is being charged for attempted murder.

According to a twitter post by the LAPD;

“LAPD Detectives have arrested three adult males & two juvenile males related to the Feb 19th murder of Bashar Jackson, a New York based rapper known as Pop Smoke. We will provide further details as they become available.”

The LAPD said they were notified of the incident after receiving a call on 19 February about a break in at the rappers residence in New York just before 5 am. According to the Rapper’s friends, residents within the apartment reported armed assailants going into the residence of the rapper.

He was found dead a few hours later.
