Lawan visits Governor Yahaya Bello over mother’s death

Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, on Monday, March 16, paid a condolence visit to Kogi state governor, Yahaya Bello at his country home in Okene over the demise of his mother, Hajia Hauwau Bello.

Lawan disclosed that the family’s matriarch lived a very fruitful life which was reflected in the quality of children she produced.

The Senate president added that her legacies of peace and unity would continue to be sustained. He also lauded Governor Bello for his efforts in the sustenance of peace and security for people of the state.

According to him, three senators from Kogi state have shown unity and worked with the National Assembly’s leadership towards securing beneficial ends for their state.

Earlier, The Herald reported that President Buhari commiserated with Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state over the death of his mother, Hajiya Hauwau Oziohu Bello.

President Buhari, in a statement issued on Sunday, March 15, by his media aide, Garba Shehu, prayed that God Almighty will comfort her family and loved ones.

The president, however, urged the governor, family members and all associates of Hajiya Bello to find solace in the grace of long life given to the matriarch.

According to him, the legacies of generosity, kindness and virtue that Hajiya Bello lived by, and “consistently” advocated will always be remembered.

President Buhari, who urged the family and all citizens of Kogi state to immortalize the matriarch by promoting her values, also prayed that God will grant her soul peaceful rest.

It was reported that Kogi state governor, Yahaya Bello, has announced the death of his mother, Hajia Hauwau Bello, saying she died at 101.
In a statement he personally signed in Lokoja, Governor Bello said his mother died on Sunday, March 15, after a brief illness.
