Leon Balogun Sets Premier League Record With Goal

Nigerian defender, Leon Balogun made history by being the second fastest substitute to score this season after his goal against Crystal Palace.

The Super Eagles defender came on after Brighton Defender Shane Duffy was sent off for an off the ball incident

He scored from the resulting corner, less than a minute after he came on, to put the bottom half table side 2 goals ahead.

Brighton scored a third despite the red and even though Palace got one back, they were able to see out the game even though they were down to 10 men

According to stats account, Opta Joe:  Leon Balogun scored just 25 seconds after coming on as a substitute for Brighton – the second quickest goal by a sub in the Premier League this season after Daniel Sturridge vs West Ham (24 secs). Introduction.
