Following the fracas that occurred in the Senate today which saw the Mace which is the symbol of Authority for the Senate, hijacked by thugs, a senator has been arrested in connection with the crime.
A video has surfaced online which shows Senator Ovie Omo-Agege being escorted by men of the Police after the plenary.
The Senator had earlier been suspended by the Senate for 90 days allegedly for certain statements he made. Senate President Bukola Saraki was even criticised by Delta APC for this move as it was seen as an overstep and an abuse of power.
Omo-Agege however, was present at the plenary today.
He is the main suspect and alleged mastermind behind the hijack of the Senate Mace and the attack on the Senate by armed men while the plenary was in progress.
