The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, on Thursday urged a journalist to come forward with a petition and supporting evidence if he has anything against the wealth of National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

The anti-graft boss made this known on Thursday after the journalist queried the source of Tinubu’s wealth that made him say, in a viral August video, that he was richer than Osun State.

The journalist also queried why the EFCC was refusing to act on the series of videos that showed Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abdullahi Umar Ganduje allegedly receiving bribes in dollars from contractors.

Magu, who held a media parley as part of activities to mark his third year in charge of EFCC, disclosed that it was not in his place to act based on reports on radio and television, admonishing the journalist to forward a petition, with evidence, to the commission.

He said, “You know what? If you are really interested, write a petition and see whether I won’t act. Go and write a petition and substantiate in the petition and find out if I won’t act. It is not for us to listen to people on radio and begin to act. Yes, we have intelligence but the surest way to get action is to go and write a petition and substantiate the contents of the petition and see whether I will not act.”
