Member of Nassarawa State House of Assembly Dies of Coronavirus

A state lawmaker representing Nassarawa Central at the Nassarawa State House of Assembly, Suleiman Adamu has reportedly died from Coronavirus.

According to the State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, the lawmaker died from symptoms of the disease after having undergone a test.

He died before the test result came out which confirmed he had Coronavirus.

The lawmaker is the first coronavirus patient to die in Nassarawa State since the first case of the disease was recorded in the state on Tuesday.

Speaking to journalists, Governor Abdullahi said all the state lawmakers will be quarantined while the assembly complex will be fumigated.

He also said 788 almajiri children were deported from the state as parts of efforts to curb the spread of the disease.

Nassarawa currently has 9 active coronavirus cases with one recorded death.
