A chieftain of the pan-Yoruba group, Afenifere, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, has asked the Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, to continue to display good governance, even as he said the governor had during his tenure upheld the cardinal policy of the defunct Action Group, which is, “Education for all.”

The Action Group was a political party established in Ibadan, Oyo State, on March 21, 1951 by the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo.

A statement by the state’s Commissioner for Information, Mr. Kayode Akinmade, quoted Adebanjo as saying this in Ondo on Thursday during the inauguration of the Awosika Memorial Caring Heart Mega Primary School by the state governor.

The Afenifere chieftain, who said quality education remained the forerunner of an “egalitarian” society, commended Mimiko for his efforts at promoting education in the state.

According to the statement, the inaugurated primary school has 21 standard classrooms capable of accommodating 521 pupils, computer laboratories, library, a recreation centre, a playground, an event hall, modern conveniences, and a 24-hour water supply system.

At the event, Mimiko said that without education, many families would have been recycling poverty from generation to generation.
