Mobile Police Commander Dies as Kano Continue to Experience Sudden Deaths

An assistant commissioner of police, Atiku Nagodi has become the latest casualty of sudden deaths in Kano as the grim reaper continues to waltz through the state like a Belle at a debutante ball.

Atiku Nagodi was until his death on Monday, the squadron commander 9 Mobile Police Force based in Kano.

Prominent residents of the State alongside ordinary individuals have been struck down in the last three weeks since the first case of Coronavirus was announced in the state in April.

While the state government has denied that the sudden deaths are linked with Coronavirus, an investigation carried out by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said the deaths were caused by Coronavirus.

Governor Ganduje also expressed fears over the rate of sudden deaths in the state while inaugurating a mobile testing centre donated by Aliko Dangote.

“There is no doubt that Kano is in trouble. And there is no doubt that we started on a shaky foundation.”

“When samples were taken to Abuja for seven hours and came back again in seven hours, that was the shaky foundation I am talking about.”

He said at the time.

Kano State officially has 323 confirmed cases of Coronavirus.
