The Nigerian Air Force has debunked reports of a terror attack on the premier NAF Base at Kaduna on Saturday morning.

A report by an online news platform, quoting an unnamed Air Force official, stated that Boko Haram tried to take over the air force base on Saturday morning.

This was said to have led to a two-hour gunfight between the air force personnel and the terrorists.

But in a statement signed by Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, NAF blamed the report on the “merchants of fake news”.

It urged the public to disregard the report in its entirety “as it is entirely false”.

“Merchants of fake news are at it again. This time around, their focus is on the premier Nigerian Air Force Base at Kaduna, which they claimed came under terrorist attack in the early hours of today, 26 June 2021.

“Members of the public should please disregard the news as it is entirely false.

“There was nothing of such as the inhabitants of the entire Base are going about their normal activities and duties without any threat whatsoever,” the statement read.
