The Ondo State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in 2015 destroyed 21 cannabis farmlands in the state, which covered about 323 acres and with the capacity to produce 1,550.4 tons of cannabis sativa.

This was revealed on Tuesday by the State Commander of the agency, Mohammed Sokoto, while briefing journalists on the highlights of the command’s activities during the course of the year under review.

Also, he said two suspects were apprehended with 500 grammes of cocaine in Ondo West Local Government Area of the state.

He however failed to elaborate, stating that the matter was already before a court of law.

“Right now, we have a lot of surveillances ongoing in some places where we have pocketed some smokers and users of this cocaine.

“We have arrested two persons in connection and the suspects were arrested in Ondo and the investigation is still going on and as soon as they are convicted, we will let you know,” Sokoto said.
